For those of you who notice these things, I think you will be happy to hear that the stone facade work on this bridge is scheduled to be completed this spring. ODOT had to hurry up and get this bridge open for the Fall 2006 semester at YSU and was unable to complete the project because of the weather. I spoke with Maureen Bachman at ODOT District 4 in Akron today about this and she gave me this information.
She said there were a lot of community people involved in this project, as many of you know. Helping the situation was the fact that the former boss at District 4 was Mohammed Darwish, an engineering graduate at YSU so he took a personal interest in this. He has since moved on from his position at ODOT.
Maureen also said that more landscaping will be done.
