Title: Charter Schools even lag behind inner city Ohio schools
Post by: Irishbobcat on December 04, 2015, 01:34:17 PM
No surprises here......

A new analysis by the Ohio Charter School Accountability Project of recently-released proficiency test results for Ohio school districts and charter schools finds that local public school districts overall substantially outperform charters. The analysis also shows that in many urban areas, local public school districts are not only holding their own, but in many cases outperforming the charters that were supposed to give students a better choice.

For example, Akron outperforms charters in all English Language Arts categories and 7 of 8 categories in math. Cincinnati outperforms charters in 16 of 21 comparable areas.

The full analysis is available at KnowYourCharter.com.

The Ohio Charter School Accountability Project is a joint venture of the Ohio Education Association and Innovation Ohio. The Ohio Education Association represents more than 121,000 teachers, faculty members and support professionals in Ohio's public schools, colleges and universities. Innovation Ohio is a progressive think tank headquartered in Columbus.
