Youngstown played a very important part in the exploration of space and a Youngstowner was the FIRST DIRECTOR OF THE SPACE SHUTTLE PROGRAM FOR NASA. Dr. Myron S. Malkin - A YOUNGSTOWNER - designed the SPACE SHUTTLE PROGRAM that we have today.
