Title: YSU seeks to own 2 city streets
Post by: our2cents on October 31, 2006, 11:23:18 AM
I think this would be a good idea.  Anything to allow YSU to do better for it's future is a plus for the city.  Not to mention the city not having to spend funds to maintain those streets.

"YOUNGSTOWN — City council will consider legislation Wednesday that would eventually lead to giving Youngstown State University two roads on its campus.

YSU is requesting the city vacate University Plaza from Wick Avenue to Bryson Street, and Bryson Street from University Plaza to its dead-end. "

I tend to agree with Our 2c, this is a good thing for both Y.S.U. and for Youngstown.  As long as the university
continues its slow and steady growth, things can only continue to get better for the downtown area, the
North Side, and the rest of the city - to some extent.

GO Y.S.U.  !!

Would this eliminate Mr. Grenga's business?  If so, what message does Youngstown send to other  business owners? I can't believe that putting a long time Youngstown business owner out of business could be a good thing.  We all want Ytown to prosper and thrive and we talk about wanting to bring businesses to downtown.  Downtown cannot be all bars and food establishments.
