This is great news that the program has finally started back up.  Every neighborhood needs police
officers who are familiar with the problems specific to the area, someone who can reach out
and establish ties with the residents and get to know them.

Wish they could have regular, foot patrols like the old days... two cops walking a beat together
in the neighborhood every day....

I met our 3rd Ward community officer, Barbara Copeland, a few days ago. We were on the 6 pm news together last Thursday, I think it was.
I have known her for about 6 yrs as she used to be a patrol officer on the south side.

She will be attending our neighborhood meeting this Thursday to meet some folks.
I'm very glad they've started this program back up.
