The Lowellville American Legion will sponsor the new Lowellville Independence Day Parade.
So far it will be two Police cars, the American Legion Color Guard, 3 firetrucks, The Mayor and council....
Still trying to get a drum line, a dance line, Cheer leaders. Cub scout boy scouts girl scouts....
Not bad for it being a one man Parade (Me with a flag) as of last Thursday....
I started asking when the Last one was and no one could tell me, though there was a write up in the Vindicator 115 years ago.....
We will bring it back, bigger and better each year....
Sarge, with you there, I'm as sure as I can be that there will be awhole lot of Vets looking down fromHeaven with big smiles on their faces cheering you on.
Hey Sarge, are there still any boy scout or girl scout troops in the area?
Maybe they would attend....
I wished Allen, but the only troops belong to Struthers, though there is a Girl scout troop wanting to break off and come home to lowellville....
Hay sfc_oliver - so when and where in Lowellville is this parade? My wife is half Italian - can I come to it? Ol Mayor Russo and I were friends - does that count for anything?
LOL it won't be much but for a first and less than a month to plan it, I think we're doing good.
We have Police and Fire trucks, We may have a few antique cars.
Just got off the phone with someone who might get me the HS Drum line.
And of course the American Legion with their Color Guard....
We will leave old School Park at 10 AM going west on Walnut St, turning south on Quiesner and then east On West Wood, ending behind city hall. All of about 9 blocks....
Not bad for a start..
can individuals and families march in the parade too?
If we allow the Amercan Legion Color Guard lead the Lansingvlle Parade.
Any biker groups?
The civilian ones with ordinary citizens.....
Not this year..... bikes are hard to do at marching speed...

Promoting the parade on Youtube is a great idea....gets the word out and could
help make next year even better.
That was G R E A T for the 1st time  We will have to get together over coffee or a beer and exchange ideas ! ! ! Sometimes I just don't know how the Lansingville Parade happens - it just does :o CONGRADULATIONS ! ! !
We all know why the Lansingville parade and picnic always comes together and is a rousing success and that is our Kenny S. and the wonderful people of the 7th Ward ... well most of them with the Holy Family looking down and giving it their seal of approval.
What really will help for next year is that I posted on a Lowellville history FB page....And I have at least one of the Council interested...
do you think having the parade the sat or sun before the fourth of july to ensure more participation from other government entities.
That's a possibility. Haven't looked at when the fourth is next year yet...Planning starts in September.
