Rocky Ridge Neighborhood To Introduce Its Mascot.
Thursday, May 7, 6:00 p.m.
The Rocky Ridge Neighborhood will unveil its mascot to promote production of the group's "Mill Creek Maple" syrup. The mascot, designed by Chris Yambar, adds a face and character to the popular seasonal topping. Mill Creek Maple syrup was first tapped in 2013 and is produced within the neighborhood from a 60 year-old grove of sugar maple trees in Mill Creek MetroParks. Profits from syrup sales have gone to support the Kurinka Children's Playground at the James L. Wick Recreation Area, the West Side Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, and the Mill Creek Jr. Baseball League.- Location -

The event will conclude with an announcement regarding the date and time to purchase this year's batch of Mill Creek Maple Syrup.
The mascot is a raccoon and its name is Tapper.
Ahhh and I was hoping that it would be a little bunny. :'(
WKBN-TV covered the event. Hopefully the story will be on the TV news tonight.

I would like to see a local cartoon strip developed around the adventures of Tapper.

Have the person who created Tapper draw some cartoon panels, and arrange for an appointment with Tod Franko, the Editor of the Vindicator. It would go great on the same page as the Column about Mill Creek Park.

That would be Chris Yambar, creator of the Simpsons and other popular comics and cartoons.
OK then Chris Yambar should put together a portfolio of Tapper comics, then make an appointment with Tod Franko ... he will need to call Tod to arrange the appointment otherwise he can not just walk in to the newsroom and ask for Tod. Security will call Tod and Tod will take Chris up to the news room.
