Title: Urban Farmers Wanted For South Side Farmers' Market
Post by: jay on March 30, 2015, 05:32:34 AM
The South Side Farmers' Market is seeking urban farmers to sell produce at the market this summer.  The market will be held on Tuesday afternoons from June to September.  Contact the Iron Roots Urban Farm (IRUF) if you would like to sell your locally grown produce at the market.

A question worth asking.
Many moons ago a group from the 6th Ward were planning to establish a fish hatchery somewhere in the 6th to sell the fish they raised at the farmers markets locally, but many moons have passed and nary a word has passed from the lips of the folks that wanted to start it. Can any good and noble citizen shed the light of day on what happened to this idea?

Those are two very nice young ladies pictured on the front page story about the Iron Roots Urban Farm.  They are a pleasure to work with at the farmers' market.

I've been wondering too TT.  I  donated to this and have the t-shirt to prove it.
