Can anyone provide me with information about Mahoning Heights?
In the October 19, 1913 Youngstown Sunday Vindicator there was an ad for a land auction of 59 lots in the Mahoning Heights Development on the West Side. The streets involved were Portland; Lakeview; Mayfield; Olson and Troy. Apparently this was a new development since the ad didn't mention houses.

Also the Dunlap Heights Allotment

I guess that the West Siders are not interested in the early history of their side of town. Sad.
Probably just a cute name given to those lots before they were developed.
Those streets mentioned as part of Mahoning Heights are in the Garden District.
Isn't that the area that had so many problems in the past?
