Ohio Governor plans to tax shale heavily to pay for tax cuts to his cronies!

Sounds like a money grab from the state.  They won't be happy until they
tax to death what could be a golden goose for Ohio....

The current tax rate is actually rather low.  The rate should be comparable to what other states are charging, otherwise Ohio is leaving money on the table.  If the rate is comparable then there would be no detrimental effect.

So maybe just the usual sabre rattling when a new tax is being proposed,
as far as moving operations ?

Yep.  The hydrocarbons are here in the ground in Ohio. They can't be outsourced!  As long as the cost of extracting them is not higher significantly from other states, they will continue to be extracted here.
