Title: Shootings and Stabbings
Post by: jay on September 11, 2006, 09:10:22 PM
What are the statistics for shootings and stabbings in the city of Youngstown from year to year?  This past weekend a man was critically wound on New York Avenue.  By luck, he has not ended up as another homicide.

We seem to concentrate only on the homicide rate.  We should also look at the total number of shootings and stabbings.

I'm sure there are better statistics available, but here is a link that I have bookmarked.

http://cantonoh.areaconnect.com/crime/compare.htm?c1=Canton&s1=OH&c2=youngstown&s2=OH (http://cantonoh.areaconnect.com/crime/compare.htm?c1=Canton&s1=OH&c2=youngstown&s2=OH)

Would non lethal stabbings and shootings be considered assault?

Somewhat unrelated to the original subject, I find it interesting (that's why I bookmarked the link) that Canton ties or BEATS Youngstown in most crime categories, Canton doesn't have the severe image problem Youngstown does.
