Title: Bicycle Racks On WRTA Buses
Post by: jay on August 28, 2014, 07:57:20 PM
It's finally going to happen in Youngstown.  New fixed route buses will be equipped with the bicycle racks.  The first of these new buses may arrive in late September.

How will this idea work? Will the bike rider using the bus have to pay extra for the bike? Where will the bike racks be located?
Since I don't own a bike, it's not for me to comment one way or the other, so I'll just say the if it will help WRTA's bottom line I favor the idea.

The bicycle racks may be similar to this one.

I've told several bicyclists about the bus bike racks.  The most common response was "it's about time."

the wrta board members must ride the buses to hear other concerns of their riders.
