Title: Having Fun at Youngstown Steel Heritage!
Post by: Rick Rowlands on July 10, 2014, 09:20:55 AM
Yesterday we got our propane fired engine running at the Youngstown Steel Heritage Museum.  This engine originally powered a pump jack at an oil well and was sold by the Continental Supply Co., a subsidiary of Youngstown Sheet & Tube.
Here is a video if it running.   It drives an air compressor but will also run an alternator to provide an alternate means of charging the solar batteries.

Hey Rick - are you still thinking about animating the Tod Engine with an external
motor of some type, down the road?

That would be an eye-popper to see, for sure, with that huge flywheel and
pistons turning and pumping....
