Local Music Showcase at Greyland Gallery
Dive in to Youngstown's rich music scene when three of Youngstown's rock-n-roll favorites join forces to play Greyland Gallery, downtown Youngstown.
Saturday March 29th 2014
Greyland Gallery (23 W. Boardman St. Youngstown, OH) presents
Modern Life
Sirens Everywhere
Sam Goodwill
9pm-1am, $5 cover, 21+
Those who know these three bands will be excited, those who don't should take note. All three have long roots in the Youngstown music scene, and each has caught the attention of critics and promoters beyond the city limits. Here at Greyland, we are showcasing these bands because we think they represent the intelligence, creativity, and energy of Youngstown rock and roll. Modern Life gives the audience explosive, driving dirges that balance the hard with the soft. Sirens Everywhere meld noisy garage with classic lyricism. And Sam Goodwill crafts sophisticated, percussive music lead by soulful harmonies.
This event will kick off the "Local Exposure" series at Greyland, which will focus on booking local music alongside nationally touring acts, and will help propel Youngstown bands through exposure and funding. Music is critically important to the cultural development of Youngstown, and Greyland would like to invite music lovers to invest in the city by opening their ears to some of its assets.

Greyland Gallery is a retail store in Youngstown. We are working to make downtown a place to shop, gather and exchange ideas. We sell vintage furniture, clothing and records that speak to the tastes of Youngstowners and attract collectors from elsewhere. We also serve as a venue where local artists can sell their work, and operate a gallery that showcases regional art. Every Friday night, we hold free community events like art openings, live music, film screenings and workshops. For a calendar of our cultural events email greylandevents@gmail.com
