Title: "Ohio Land Management's First Utica Well"
Post by: Youngstownshrimp on January 28, 2014, 08:04:21 AM
Right below Salem above the Beaver creek in Columbiana county hardly noticeable with only a 6" pipe and a 4 acre well pad visible, sits OLM's first Utica well.  Back in late 2012, this location was humming with America's envy of the energy world, a Nomac horizontal drilling rig.  In 18 days, this high tech machine drilled down to 8000 ' and gradually turned horizontally for another 5000 ', truly a wonder.
As this well and others were drilled in Clombiana, the vast $200 million Kensington cryogenics plant was being constructed and assembled in order for the "Wet Gas" of these wells to be separated from the dry gas and shipped to market.  The Kensington is now completed and the northern Columbiana wells are now being hooked up by way of the Teegarden pipeline.
Now it is Mahoning county's turn to begin the harvesting and selling of its "Wet Gas."  Although Hilcorp's approach and technology will be different.  The New Middleton $300 million cryogenics plant followed Kensington and is now ready to process what we have to offer.  However, there will be very little surface footprint here; Hilcorp at its Poland landfill site has demonstrated a "super pad."  A cluster of 12 wells on one descreet pad with the lateral drilled to about 9,000 feet long.  From the Poland well pad, 20% of Poland township is already covered by the fracked laterals.
So, this leaves us with Youngstown, it can now be drilled from the outside of City limits despite the Fractivist tantrums.

Thanks for the update Ron, this is very encouraging news for us,and hopefully once the officials in the city see it working, and how it will benefit the county, they will want to jump on board assuming that they have even the smallest sintilla of intelligence, and that might be asking too much.

TT,
Our company is beginning to be contacted by the "old guard" of Youngstown coming out of the woodwork with an amazing amount of minerals that basically sat dormant not believing.  It appears Youngstowners may finally be taking notice of this tidal wave of investment going after OUR minerals.
