Title: Sides Of Town In Voting In The November Election
Post by: jay on September 29, 2013, 08:55:07 AM
Three candidates are in the Youngstown President of Council race.   One is from the north side,  one from the south side and the last is from the west side.

Will each candidate receive the majority of their votes from the side of town on which they live?

Without question Chuck will get the most votes from all four sides of town. That's a no brainer.

Chuck is not liked by many people who have had to work with him.
His appointed employees from the suburbs are not able to vote in Youngstown elections.

Like him or not, the fact remains that the majority of the Youngstown voters will not vote Green, but will vote as they always have and that is Democratic because it's so much a part of their DNA.

Candidate Travers is very strong on the south side and has contacts with may of the city's block watch leaders.

Will Chuck still capture over 50% of the vote in this three way race?

In a three way race, Chuck wouldn't need 50%. All he would need is 1 more vote than the candidate that had the next largest vote, but of course it won't be that close.
