Title: Question for Rick
Post by: Towntalk on September 10, 2013, 10:19:21 AM
Rick, I recently saw a large photo of machinery that was installed at the Campbell Works in 1935 that was manufactured by MESTA. Can you shed any light on that company? Whatever it was it was huge and in several units. According to the caption it was a Wide Continuous Strip Mill, and cost $8,000,000.00.

You always intrigue me with you questions TT.  Attached is an article from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 1984 about the rise and fall of MESTA:

Thank you for the article. I noted that there is a reference to some machinery that Mesta built in the 1930's that could have been the machinery I was asking about.
