And I saw on the news that all students get to pay a new fee for parking construction, even if they do not drive to campus. How nice!

Poor, poor pitiful them, my heart bleeds for them (not).

Tell the whole darn story.

YSU's tuition will remain, even with this increase, the lowest among comparable, comprehensive universities in the state," said YSU Communications Director Ron Cole.

All students taking six or more credit hours might also have to pay a mandatory $115 transportation fee, even if they live on campus. The funds would help expand the shuttle service and pay for repairs to parking facilities like the $20 million Lincoln parking deck renovation project.

The board of trustees is set to vote on both resolutions next Wednesday.

Student Trustee Melissa Wasser said many students who do not having parking permits use the shuttle services. She said the fee would essentially replace the current $120 parking fee, a savings of $5 for some.

"This $115 dollars will give you essentially a parking permit, it will include that and you'll be able to park on campus, and you're also able to use the shuttle services," Wasser said. "They're looking to expand the shuttle services, which is what the transportation fee is going to cover. They're looking to expand it to lunch-time service to downtown."
