At the market today:  Excited to offer fresh, local strawberries, asparagus, apples, romaine & buttercrunch lettuce today! As always, EBT & WIC are accepted, with a 3 dollar bonus for every 10 dollars EBT users spend. Looking foward to seeing you at the NS farmers market.   Stop at the FM table to answer Clay's survey about the retail food co-op being planned for the Northside and sample fresh healthy juice. Across from Wick park on Elm St 10-1 on Saturdays.
Downtown Market is Tuesdays on the square, 11-1.

The hit of the market today was the locally raised strawberries.

Yummy!  :-*

I enjoyed a zucchini-walnut cake from Carol the Baker.

Jay, you want something that will curl your toes for joy:

A Pound cake un-iced
Sliced Strawberries
Sliced Cantaloupe
Vinella Ice Cream

Slice the cake and place it in a cereal bowl and over it, place two scoops of Ice Cream and over the Ice Cream place the fruit

Top with whipped cream

The strawberries:

The night before slice the strawberries and place them in a covered container

Sprinkle some sugar over the berries
Add a dash of Vinella and a third of a cup of water
After closing the container, give it a few shakes to get the liquid over the berries.

Place the container in the frig over night to allow the liquid to take onthe berry juice as well a flavor the berries.
