A recent addition to Stambaugh Auditorium has made the treasured landmark even lovelier.
A dedication ceremony was held Thursday morning for the newly renovated formal garden outside the auditorium.
New stone walkways and planters surround the garden's original centerpiece, a 1926 fountain.
The space will be used for small, outdoor concerts, receptions and wedding ceremonies.
The renovation is a gift from the Stambaugh Pillars.
"It is so visible. You can drive by here, you don't have to go in the building," said Karl Roach, vice chairman of Stambaugh Pillars. "I think it will show the people of this area, not just Youngstown, the people of this area are interested in this asset that they have here."
The group plans to showcase the venue during the new concert series "Bands at the Baugh," beginning in June.

A big thanks to one and all.
