Folks,
This email was sent to me today by the proprietor of the Printz
Mansion Bed & Breakfast located at 5th Avenue and Tod
Lane:
----------------------
The sentencing hearing for the scavenger apprehended recently
at 430 Tod Lane is scheduled for Thursday, June 29, 2006 at
1:30 p.m. The hearing will take place in the Municipal Court
facilities located on the second floor of City Hall, 26 S.
Phelps Street.
All interested parties are strongly encouraged to attend this
hearing. It is important that the courtroom be filled to
capacity to send a strong message to the court, and the
community in general, that this house stripping activity of
vacant properties on the North Side is not a "victimless crime".
All residents of our North Side neighborhoods are adversely
affected by this activity. The scavengers must be apprehended
and incarcerated for the maximum length of time that the law
provides in order that these vacant properties can be peacefully
restored, rehabilitated and occupied as soon as possible.
--------------------------------
We MUST send a CLEAR message to both the courts and
to city hall that the breaking into and scavenging of our
Youngstown homes and buildings will NO LONGER be
tolerated!!!
Best regards,
Allan
:)
What happened at this hearing?
My understanding is that the June 29 hearing was a preliminary hearing. He was bound over to the Grand Jury and they released because of overcrowding in the jail. The last I heard was that the City Prosecutor was to consider an indictment on or before July 13. I have not heard whether he was indicted or not.
