Didn't see anything in the news.  Are you talking about the benefit in today's Vindy?  Someone with the same name is being charged with intoxicated pedestrian.  http://courts.mahoningcountyoh.gov/pa/pa.urd/pamw2000.o_case_sum?46014567 (http://courts.mahoningcountyoh.gov/pa/pa.urd/pamw2000.o_case_sum?46014567)

That's the guy, didn't know that he was being charged though. I was wondering who was driving the car and if they had been charged.
There is a movement in the veteran community to help him because of mounting medical bills. In my capacity as Commander of an American Legion post i went to the rehab facility where he is laid up to visit with him. The man has had 3 or 4 surgeries on each upper arm/shoulder area, he can barely move his arms. one leg is in a cast and the other has a steel framework screwed into his thigh and lower leg.

But he seems to be a pretty nice guy...

Our post has already voted to make a nice contribution to his medical bills........

I am aware of the fund raisers obviously. In fact I had passed the info to Barry Landgraver at Veterans Service Commission.

But we were curious about the driver, I didn't really want to ask him as he was already in enough pain. He did tell me that he and a friend were out drinking...So we charge pedestrians with drinking, at least he wasn't driving.....

QuoteI was wondering who was driving the car and if they had been charged.

Looking at cases using the officers name I could not find any driver being charged on that date in the same vicinity.

I have heard Youngstown will charge the pedestrian, sober or intoxicated, if they cause an accident and they were crossing the street where there was not a cross walk.
