Title: Teachers, Special Public Employees
Post by: jay on December 16, 2012, 09:08:57 AM
Teachers are special public employees.  The recent event at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, showed us just how special teachers are.  If accounts are accurate, some teachers took bullets in an effort to protect their students.  I don't think too many people in other professions would have done the same.

People's values and morals can't be defined by their profession for the most part. I'm not sure how you could reasonably determine that people in other professions would not have done the same as those teachers.

A better plan of action would have been to allow those brave teachers to shoot back.

The whole thing was over when the gunman killed himself after shooting 20 some innocent people. Someone else shooting him sooner would have been preferable.

Putting guns on teachers in a classroom is a bad idea......If that's what is needed, then let's just close all schools and
children can be educated on-line via the computer.....
