Title: Christmas 2012
Post by: Towntalk on December 08, 2012, 09:58:53 PM
Several Christmas' ago, I started a tradition of of wishing everyone a Merry Christmas by presenting a series of Chritmas programs, and this year will be no exception. I can't send each and every one of you a card, but I hope that these programs will serve as a card, and hope that you enjoy them and make them a part of your families Christmas celebration.

Each week leading up to the day itself, I will add more programs.

What is so sad is the fact that there were many wonderful Christmas programs on radio over the years, but the only way we can remember them today is if we download them from sites that have preserved the golden age of radio, and equally sad is the fact that it wouldn't cost todays radio stations a single dime to bring them back since they are all in the public domaine which is why I can link to them here for your Christmas enjoyment.

I would hope that you will download these programs and make them a part of your Christmas celebration, and may you all have a very merry and blessed Christmas.

tt i dl the jb show while i was teaching art for my enjoyment and the stds to have a beautiful exp from the past. the stds listened to program and laughed at pts they understood then the ones after i explained it to them. another method of teaching history through aother source without making it a taught lesson for the day.

In real life, Jack Benny was the very opposite of the character that he portrayed on the show and was a very generous person. As to the Christmas shows, Jack's gift buying for Don ran the gammet of cheap wallets, golf tees, and other cheap items.

I'm happy that your students liked the program.

I was planning to post this final set of programs tomorrow, but because I will be too busy I'll post them today, and wish eachand everyone of you a very blessed Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

To one and all, a very Merry Christmas from my home to yours.

Of all the television versions of A Christmas Carol that are shown each year, which is the version that you most enjoy?

While I am partial to the radio version starring Lionel Barrymore, the television version I most look forward to seeing is the version starring George C. Scott which in its own right has become a classic.

So get a mug of hot chocolate or Egg Nog and cookies and enjoy this Campbell Playhouse version of A Christmas Carol starring Lionel Barrymore; and another Christmas traditional staple, the Lux Radio Theater version of Miracle On 34th Street starring the same cast that made the motion picture and the Amos and Andy Annual Christmas program.
