Youngstown at the doorstep to great reindustrialization must be careful who it's next Mayor is.
Let the debate begin, who that has been mentioned in the press can lead Youngstown in it's last chance at greatness and prosperity?
Who is McNally?
Only John McNally has filed so far.
Name some of the other people who will probably file for the 2013 primary election.
George McKelvey?
Who is John McNally?
He is a lawyer and has been in politics for awhile now. Has he shook the Valley? Not really except maybe when he was indicted. Did he push for JFS to relocate out of the abandoned Eastside to fill up the old hospital? He does without a doubt have track record locally, does that make him a future great Mayor, or does he have business experience to take advantage of the energy industry? I for one don't know. Who else out there wants to be Mayor?
We want George
We want George
We want
We want
We want George!
I know George and I voted for him, but I really have not sat down with him and talked vision, so this is what I do not know about George.
George is a regular sub for WKBN 570 talk shows for several years and he has a strong vision for Youngstown's future and is for a strong police department with zero tolarance for crime, and while he is a Democrat, he works great with Republicans.
If you will recall, some folks took exception with his support of President Bush when he was Mayor.
He would be a no nonsence Mayor.
George M. McKelvey is an American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) politician. A Democrat (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_(United_States)), he served two terms as Mayor of Youngstown, Ohio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayor_of_Youngstown,_Ohio), from 1998 to 2005. Prior to serving as mayor, he served two terms as the Treasurer of Mahoning County (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahoning_County,_Ohio). He has also been a teacher, school administrator and city council member in Youngstown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youngstown,_Ohio).[1]
In 2004, he broke ranks with his Democratic party to endorse Republican President George W. Bush (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_W._Bush) for a second term.[2]
In March 2008, McKelvey was named a U.S. Observer with the International Fund for Ireland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fund_for_Ireland).[1]

Was working late at our store in Poland Village when in walks Jacob Harver. I asked him who would be best for Mayor, he quickly responded "Hagen."
Hagen???
hagen talks on both sides of his mouth similiar to the ones that were mentioned in the vindy that wants to run for mayor. these inds can ran on a ticket called the five and dime politicans.
Whi is Bob Hagen? I thought he spelled his name Hagan?
hagen hagan there the same person.
Hagan fights energy and yet he works for a railroad company that is deep into it.
What has he done for the Valley, anyone?:
i say for the city itself.
Who is Tito Brown?
a political hack who has no accomplishments behind him when he worked at ysu, ytown school board, and city council.
I read in today's Vindy that Phil Kidd isn't even mentioned but in the comments his groupies are pushing him. This site has more interest in the Mayoral candidates that "FB Kidd for Mayor" so I think these numbers speak for itself.
Who is Janet Tarpley?
Rick Rowland for Mayor!
Ate lunch at Cafe Cimento and talk is for MacNally.
If the movers and shakers of the Democratic Party have already selected McNalley...let's cancel the May Primary and save the county money.....
We need a true business leader to take the wheel as the global energy comapanies continue to spill into the Valley. Alex of Brilex comes to mind, even Doug Sweeney, but they would have to move into Youngstown.

As far as I know they never lived in the city.
Just an example of go-getters that have invested and created jobs in the City.
