Publicity for this year's Youngstown Soap Box Derby is lacking. I haven't seen any posters or flyers announcing the date or times for the races.
This would be a good project for the new City Youth Director. The goal should be to have dozens of our youngsters in the soap box derby next year.
Are there any businesses out there who would be willing to sponsor a race car?
The West Side Citizens' Coalition is sponsoring a race car this year.
The day of the Youngstown Soap Box Derby is Saturday, June 24, starting in the morning. The race is down Fifth Avenue from the YSU stadium to Rayen Avenue.
