Mike Ray needs to get educated on his input of "doing a study."  What is there to study at this point in time, 70% of Mahoning county is already LEASED!  As always, the City is behind once again in trying to understand what most landowners know about the Utica shale underneath our lands.  Because the City did not respond when the energy companies began leasing in Mahoning one year ago, Youngstown city limits is completely off limits to leasing by the energy companies.  In addition, the high price of $5000 to 6000 an acre is now $4000 an acre until parcels are needed for drilling units.
As this writer has warned over and over again, the big problem with Youngstown are the abandoned tax delinquent parcels....they cannot be leased until the new Landbank that the community organizers were screaming about to clear up these lots, has not even performed to clear up the lots in any significant manner.  While Yemma and Flora cash their taxpayer paychecks weekly, both of them continue to produce no clearing of delinquent parcels to make a difference.  These leaders cannot even grab at an opportunity of funding available by the energy companies to pay the property taxes on parcels that have been delinquent for decades.
