On Saturday, September 29 the Youngstown Steel Heritage Foundation will be holding an open house at the Tod Engine Heritage Park in Youngstown. Come see our collection of historic Youngstown steelmaking equipment being restored for our future steelmaking museum. Our collection consists of a 260 ton, 4000 horsepower rolling mill steam engine, the oldest operable electric overhead crane in the US, a Kling type hot metal car, GE 70 ton centercab locomotive, 175 ton teeming ladle, ingot mold and numerous other artifacts from Youngstown's steel industry.
The event will be held from 10 am until 3 pm with lunch being served at noon. Lunch will consist of authentic ethnic food including pierogies, Haluski and burgers cooked on a grill fired with coke made at the YS&T Campbell Works coke plant.
