This is the committee looking over the Charter Review Commissions'  recommendations.

If you want to have our city charter changed, show up at this meeting and tell the council committee members that you want the issues placed on the ballot for the November election.

This meeting was a waste of time.

The only charter proposal the committee agreed with was to change the "official time" of the city to be the same as that of the federal government.

Almost every other issue was criticized and the committee deferred to council as a whole to make the decision at a future meeting of council.

Again, the actions of this city council is a slap in the face to the residents of Youngstown. This council has basically rejected every amendment and will not allow the voters to have a say at the polls. And council has the gall to say with a straight face that all the chater amendments can be enacted through legislation from council. Total BS.....We know and council knows they will never enact any of the amendment changes.....
Councilman John S and company should all resign. You guys are as phony as a three dollar bill......

this is the same group of yoyos that are for regionalism. these bozos are not willing to listen to their own residents. what make you think they will cooperate with other residents in the mah valley. the residents must remind through a recall this council who is the employer and who is the employee.

The TV news made it sound as though the committee members were in favor of resizing the wards based on equal population.  Councilwoman Gillam, with one of the least populated wards, objected because redistricting would increase the geography (land mass) of her ward and she would have more streets (and problems) added to her district.
