"TWENTY-TWELVE Flags"
Public Art Project at
YSU's Summer Festival of the Arts

Presented by
Art Youngstown Inc. and the Summer Festival of the Arts

Don't miss this newest public art project collaboration where artists will design their own personalized flag inspired by the spirit of democracy during this election year. Two-foot (2) x three-foot (3) pieces of canvas will be used to create a personal flag promoting the artist; family; work, business or organization etc.

Finished flags will be hung during the 14th Annual Summer Festival of the Arts July 7 and 8 at Youngstown State University.

Guidelines
Art Youngstown Inc. will provide the canvas.

Artists are asked to be creative and have fun designing a flag that best represents their interpretation of 2012. The number 2012 does not have to be used.

Artists are not limited to one flag. Artists may choose to do a series of flags.

Embellishment materials are at the artist's discretion, however, may not be profane or pornographic. Each artist will provide his/her own embellishment materials.

Flags may be solid or cut out.

Finished flags will be hung throughout the 14th Annual Summer Festival of the Arts, July 7 and 8.

Each artist must sign a contract and pick up their materials June 7 or 8 at Youngstown State University's Bliss Hall.

Finished artwork will need to be delivered to YSU Thursday, July 5. (More instructions will follow)

Artists may pick up their flag at the conclusion of the Summer Festival of the Arts, Sunday, July 8 after 5:00 p.m. or they may donate their ornament to Art Youngstown, Inc.

Registration for artists is via email at: lafactor@ysu.edu or by phone at 330-941-2307.
