Found this photo of three little boys playing fireman back in 1902. The father of one of the lads was a YFD fireman.
if williams was still mayor he would have used this method to cut cost for the city while looking the other way when his church owes millions of dollars in back property taxes.
Thanks Towntalk. I've seen that photo pop up a couple of times. Maybe I'll get a copy with info on who the children were on it someday.
Fear not my friend, I'll get the whole picture and caption for you.
The names of the lads are: Ralph Perkins, the son of City Electrician Ambrose Perkins; David McGraw, son of hotel owner James McGraw; and Glen Moyer, son of Fireman Lee W. Moyer.
The photo was taken in front of the Central Fire Station in 1902. The boys were the mascots of the Fire Department.
The photo appeared in the Sunday May 4, 1902 Vindicator

Thanks Towntalk! Ask and you shall receive! Of those three boys, only one would go on to be a firefighter and it's not the one you think. David McGraw, son of hotel owner James McGraw, would go on to be a city firefighter retiring in the early 1940's.
