TV news this morning reported that a person was shot at a home on South Glenellen.

A woman is hospitalized after being shot in the stomach late Monday night in Youngstown.

Police said the incident took place just before midnight at a home on Glenellen Avenue on the city's West Side.  Two men were taken into police custody at the scene.  The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth's Health Center where she underwent surgery.  Her condition and identity are not yet being released.

Youngstown police are still investigating.

UPDATE



Police have charged a suspect in an overnight shooting on Youngstown's West Side.

Kevin Newell, 44, is accused of shooting Jonelle Austin, 41, in the stomach just before midnight.

According to police, the shooting happened at a home on Glenellen Avenue. Two men were taken into custody at the scene.

Austin was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center, where she underwent surgery and is in critical condition.
