Title: Youngstown 2010 Website - is it a dead site?
Post by: AllanY2525 on December 17, 2011, 11:39:51 AM
The www.youngstown2010.com website has not had anything new articles posted to it
in almost a year now.  With the departure of former mayor Jay Williams and the absence
of a city planner, is it even worth maintaining the website any longer?

All of the material on the site, sadly, has become dated and old material.

Who has the responsibility of maintaining this website?

The 2010 website is part of the city's official site now.  The link you provided takes you to the city's 2010 page.  And, if you scroll down a little, you'll see "Hot Topics."  The first 2 items are fairly recent.

I think it would be a good idea for someone to go through the pages in that part of the site and
make some updates.

The first thing I would suggest is to change the name of the top page to "Youngstown 2012", and
put some articles and photos regarding all of the recent developments downtown, VMI, growth of
the University, tech jobs, neighborhood and community activities, etc.

Having so much stale content in those pages does the city a disservice.
