At a west side block watch meeting last night, residents observed that there must be fewer students attending Chaney High School this year. Fewer cars are in the parking lots, fewer buses are picking up students, and the streets are not jammed with the cars of parents waiting to pick up students. Students are not loitering after school either.
Well, between busing most of the kids to the other schools, and a ton being yanked out of the district to other systems. No surprises there. And it's not a bad thing to have kids at Chaney that want to be there. The only problem is for all the kids that don't want to go to other schools who then end up hating school...and they may be excellent students, just not interested in arts as they're saying Chaney is for. And then the parents sign them up for other programs.
