Title: Question for Rick
Post by: Towntalk on August 04, 2011, 10:12:44 PM
This photo was allegedly taken here in Youngstown in the 1960 of two MONON RR trains. Do you know anything about that RR and whether it ran trru Youngstown?

The locomotive on the right is an Erie switcher. A 44X number would make it an NW2 or SW9 which is what the picture shows.  So it is possible that for some reason the Monon ran two trains through Youngstown on the Erie. They both did operate out of Dearborn Station in Chicago.    Its too bad the picture is so small. Its hard to make out any details that may help me identify the location.
