Post by: Towntalk on May 06, 2011, 09:23:51 AM
U.S. Economy Added 244,000 Jobs in April; Unemployment Rate Rises to 9.0%.

The United States economy added 244,000 jobs in April, the
Department of Labor said on Friday, as the unemployment rate
rose to 9 percent from 8.8 percent in March.

As has been the case for several months, all of the increase
came from private employers, which added 268,000 jobs, the
report said.

April's numbers exceeded the forecasts of analysts, who had
expected a gain of 185,000 jobs over all, with an increase in
private payrolls of 200,000. The gain for March was revised
to 221,000 from a previously reported 216,000.

OK I'm lost. We added jobs and the unemployment number went up?

And since it did go up why isn't this all over the networks?
