Apparently there are some misguided individuals that believe that we are so friggin' smart that we have to push aspects of our sometimes misguided and definately unnatural way of life on other people.

From the main page of that site:

"In many developing countries, children must walk without shoes for miles to school, clean water and medical help."

Would it not be better to replace all those trucks/ships/planes/whatever full of shoes with trucks/ships/planes/whatever full of bottled water and medical supplies?

"Shoes are a status symbol [in Ethiopia]. Children dream of having their first pair." Dr. Larry L. Thomas

If this is ture, it may be too late already, the materialistic mindset is already setting in.

There are several websites that promote the HEALTH BENEFITS of barefoot walking and running for the poor slobs in developed countries that feel societal pressure to wear shoes.
