The building was built for Max Shagran in 1926.

Who was Max Shagran you ask  ??? who was Max Shagran?

He owned a meat market on East Federal Street and I would guess that he built the building to make money.

His family was also involved in a number of local businesses especially theaters and wholesale tobacco.

max was also the business manager for the warner bros studios.
