I fell for it just like many of us, when the Mayor and D'Avignon were jetsetting around the country proclaiming their new vision of a smaller right size City. I always had a suspicion that this vision was probably a reason for actually doing nothing and not growing could be explained. Now the Mayor and us all are shocked to hear that we are really depopulating and this is different from right sizing. Youngstown needed to eliminate excess houses and infrastructure but not a vision to grow which is what communities do. Fortunately the discovery of oil will allow us to grow and prosper once again, the housing stock has more than enough inventory so you will not see widespread construction, but you will see advance aquaculture. And the vacant land will become rural countryside and the City will have a Village air about it.
