The founder of the Guardian Angels was in town today.
Will the presence of the Guardian Angels help to reduce crime on the south side of Youngstown?(http://www.therightperspective.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Sliwa_Port_Richmond_2010.07.27.jpg)
I feel it is better for our block watch to patrol the neighborhood without wearing a uniform such as those worn by the Guardian Angels.
City officials disagree Jay and are in support including the Mayor and Police Chief. See the writeup in Tuesday's Vindicator.
Wearing the uniform is like turning on the kitchen light - it makes the cockroaches scatter. Having a very visible presence
in the neighborhood could be a good deterrent. Who knows... it could go the other way..there could be violence.

While this may be true, criminals are more likely to show their true intentions when in the presence of ordinary looking people. Our block watch uses people of all ages from a youngster riding a bicycle to a senior citizen walking with the aid of a cane.
The Red Coats lost the revolution because they were easier targets when the militia practiced guerrilla warfare.
Guardian Angels seem to have a pretty fair record, I wouldn't turn down any help. God knows Youngstown can use any help it can get.
