Wow.  A private corporation capitalized to build housing for the poor.  Not one mention in that article about government involvement, as it should be.  Had a similar plan been floated today the entire article would be nothing but remarks from people at HUD, city council, the mayor and every other politician in the area.

It is amazing actually. Regardless of your religious beliefs, we all know that about 2000 years ago someone said, or if you prefer,  someone wrote, that the poor will always be with you. Seems to me they were right. No matter what we do or how much we give, the poor are still there.

Well yes of course.  There is no way to eliminate them, as there is also no way to eliminate the people at the top.  But what we have seen is that being poor can be a temporary condition.  Throw in a bit of determination and ambition and the poor of today are the middle class of tomorrow.
