Taft School's Transplanted Rhododendrons

Very nice pictures!  This was truly a worthwhile project and I know the Miller Street neighbors are happy about it and waiting for further developments.

In addition to members of the 7th Ward Citizens Coalition, Inc. and other City residents, the garden is also a project of the Uptown Kiwanis and their junior branch, the Wilson Key Club. Good for them and thanks for helping to beautify Youngstown. Excellent citizenship!

I have heard there is a lack of response from the Key Club. Parents, we need to get you to get your children interested. Need to get the resident neighbors involved, too.

How is Ken Stanislaw's rhododendron doing? One of the transplanted rhododendrons was a special rhododendron experiment of Ken's. We sure hope it is successful.

Taft School Rhododendrons

These are some of the rhododendrons from Taft School that were transplanted to the northwest corner of East Indianola and Gibson Avenues.

A few of the plants barely survived the move, but they will become beautiful flowering bushes in a few years.
