The concept is a good one, and could very well be used in the future once Ford finds a way to make it possable for such a car to be able to allow it to carry more than one person as the article says.
Even in days like today the Suns rays filter down to Earth during daylight hours, and from the photo, there is an outlet for an electric connection to charge the car, so the question comes down to when we could see a car using this technology go into production.
