I thank you for your geography lesson my friend. I had thought that it started at the approach to the Mahoning Ave. bridge.

northside lurker

Many years ago, when I was still a new resident of the area, I used to think that the west side started on the west side of the Spring Commons bridge.  But apparently, I was wrong.

Here is what the city considers to be the West Side:

WYTV agrees, as they describe the artists of the Mahoning Commons open house as being downtown:

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

What, my astute friend are the GEOGRAPGIC boundaries of the West Side ... not the political boundaries, but the geographical boundaries as recognized by the United States and State of Ohio? The totality of the West Side from it's eastern most boundary to its western most boundary; from it's northern most boundary to it's southern most boundary. We know that a square has but 4 sides ... and we also know that a geographical square as does a cumpass has four points and those four points have three divisions ... ie. Northwest West Southwest and the common denominator for it is WEST, and by the same token we know that there is a beginning and an end, so please, for my edification my astute friend, please educate me as to the propasition that I placed before you ... what are the OFFICIAL geographic boundaries of the West Side of the City of Youngstown as defined by the United States Government; the State of Ohio; and the National Geographic Society?
