Danish Firm Sets Up Shop In Missouri

Mid-Missouri got some good news today when the state's Department of Economic Development announced that a Denmark-based supplier to the wind-turbine industry plans to open a manufacturing plant in Moberly.

Vest-Fiber, which makes fiberglass products and primarily caters to wind turbine producers, announced it plans to invest $2 million to build a Moberly factory that will create 50 jobs, according to a release from the DED.

Missouri is offering the company $128,318 in Quality Jobs tax credits, which a company receives after creating a certain number of jobs. It's one of the primary incentives used by the state to lure companies into Missouri or keep them from leaving.

"In our search for the ideal location, we found Missouri to be the strategic center of all wind-related production facilities in the USA", Hans Leerskov Hansen, Business Development Manager of Vest-Fiber, said in a statement.

According to the DED, the new facility should be up and running by February.
