Dennis, apparently you did not win your election. And maybe its because you advocated the "smart grid technology". Wikipedia describes it this way: The idea behind the "smart grid" is to have devices that plug into your outlet and you would plug your appliance into this device. These devices would communicate and report to the electric companies at what time your appliance used energy and how much and use that to charge you more for electricity that you use during peak hours of late afternoon and early evening (175% increase in some countries in europe) and the electric company would offset that increase in price by giving up to 90% discounts during the low demand hours (generally between midnight and 5am)..

Maybe people found out that in some countries that have "smart grid technology" their citizens end up paying 175% more for electricity if they do not use their appliances between midnight and 5 A.M.

the smart grids will make solar and wind power more available to regular power customers. I have been discussing this idea since running for Congress back in 2008.
