Legacy Costs for the City

As I understand it ...Unused Sick Days and vacation times. This has been a bone of contention for years. City employees can build up unused sick days and vacation days over the years of their employment and collect it in cash when they retire.

The "use it or loose it" scheme does not apply to government employees.

Yesterday the mayor was interviewed on the Dan Rivers' show.  A caller asked a question about the legacy costs that the city pays after an employee retires.  What are these costs?  Does the city pay for a retiree's health care?
