No Matter how you attempt to defend it;

Demolition of Historical Homes and properties is an IGNORANT and SINFUL thing to do...and GOD will get you for committing these ugly acts.

Micky

Maybe you could have discussions with the Juvenile Court to have the juveniles who are out on probation revitalize these homes before they're demolished.  The benefits would be two-fold - the homes would be restored to beautify the neighborhoods and the juveniles would learn a skilled trade.

"Dear Mr. Bellamy,
Thank you for your concerned message regarding the wholesale demolition of the historic housing stock in the city of Youngstown. I agree with you that many of the homes being demolished are of a quality and historical character that will never again be duplicated in the area."

Ok but what do we do with all of these homes that are death traps?

The fact that the City of Youngstown is using General Fund Dollars to demolish these homes should be considered a gross misuse of tax payer funds.  Youngstown as well as the nation's financial strength should not be squandered on any venture that is not safety or revenue generating at its core.

Our nation is at war with very high energy prices and very little manufacturing done on our shores...is the picture getting any clearer?

Demolition generates no income for the city.  Our local Landfills are over burdened because of demolition...our environment and chiefly our water ways are polluted because of demolition contamination.

Demolition is an ignorant and misguided act by bureaucrats with no real world training and this is sad.
