New school board member, Ronald Shadd, is a west side resident.  Both the new mayor and the president of council are also west side residents.

All three positions will be filled by minorities-assuming blacks are still minority in Youngstown.  The last census whites made up 47% of the Youngstown population and bkacks made up 45% of the population.
