Trumbull County Clean Energy Network Meeting
'Status of Renewable Energy in Ohio'

Reflecting at the close of 2008, the adoption of an Ohio Renewable Portfolio Standard enacted in May activated the critical public policy change needed to create one of the nation's largest state green energy markets. But by Fall, the nation's and world's stock markets collapsed. However, while consumer confidence in the economy plummeted, the ramping up a new green economy in Ohio and the nation leaped upward. In early October, the Congress, as part of the economic rescue law, included extended and new tax credits for investment in solar, wind and other forms of green energy. As the country enters 2009, and Americans looked to a new President for leadership in the economic crisis, how does the green economy fit in? Join Outreach and Education Specialist from Ohio Consumers' Counsel (www.pickocc.org), Chris Verich, as he explores the status of renewable energy in Ohio.
